3 weeks until paperback publication of ONE LITTLE LIE

It's countdown time for the paperback release of ONE LITTLE LIE and I couldn't be more excited!

The ebook has been available since the 23rd July and I've been thrilled with the feedback and reviews so far. Here are some of the things being said about One Little Lie:

‘A story filled of manipulation, lies, secrets, and obsession with seeking forgiveness. This intricately plotted thriller … The shocking twist will leave you speechless.’ 5* NetGalley reviewer

‘This is such a masterfully plotted novel. Everything is planned out, down to the last intricate detail. It was a real pleasure to read and almost impossible to put down!’ 5* NetGalley reviewer

‘Sam Carrington has really shown the depths of her talent with this. It's beautifully written with great characters.’ 5* NetGalley reviewer

'I’ve been a big fan of Sam’s writing in the past and I’m pleased to say that One Little Lie maintains the high level of stylish and cleverly crafted plots that I have come to enjoy. But I do think that she has excelled herself this time with a great twist that I didn’t see coming, one that immediately had me flicking back through the pages of my kindle to work out how and why I had missed the clues!'
5* Jo Robertson/MyChestnutReadingReadingTree

There are lots more but I'll move on for now!

This is my third book to be published by Avon, HarperCollins since 2016 and I am very proud of it. I hope that it will find many readers and that they enjoy it, take something from it, and talk about it!

I've had masses of support from friends, family, authors and bloggers, and of course from my agent, Anne Williams, my editor Katie Loughnane and the team at Avon - I'm thankful for it all! I'm lucky enough to be able to have a small celebration at my local Waterstones in September where hopefully I will be joined by some of those supporters. It's a shame the venue isn't bigger as it would've been fabulous to invite everyone I know - but maybe that will be possible one day... :)

I hope those who pick up ONE LITTLE LIE enjoy it - and please, if you do, leave a review! They are extremely helpful and can aid visibility on Amazon. Every little helps.

If you spot One Little Lie out and about from 6th September - I would love to see some shelfies, so please do post a pic. The book will be available in Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and WHSmith Travel!

You can pre-order the paperback at Amazon here: ONE LITTLE LIE

Thank you!

It's Day 4 already - and the BAD SISTER blog tour is in full swing!

Yesterday - Day 3 - saw an exclusive extract from Bad Sister on Tracey's blog - Island Girl Book Blogger - you can read it HERE

Today, Day 4 - Katherine has written and shared the most amazing review on her blog, BiblioManiac
You can read what she has to say about Bad Sister - HERE

I've also been getting other fantastic reviews coming in, and I must say, I'm thrilled with the reception for BAD SISTER so far. Thank you to those who've bought it, and those who've reviewed.
Getting those all-important reviews is the holy grail for writers! I'm hugely appreciative!

Here are a few examples of what readers are saying about BAD SISTER:

"When a new author gives us a debut as brilliant Saving Sophie, you can be forgiven for wondering what else they have to offer ... Will book two live up to our expectations. Well let me tell you, Sam Carrington is NO one-hit wonder!!!
Bad Sister is brilliant! ... As we jump from past to present, we are taken on a journey so mind-blowing that its conclusion will leave your blood tingling!

Do not miss this one folks, it's frigging awesome!!!!" - EmmaTheLittleBookWorm

"...If we were to talk about shocking twists and stunning endings, well this one is pretty awesome and deliciously chilling! ... I was impressed with the level of complexity in the novel which although ambitious, makes for a much more exciting, unpredictable and gripping read... A perfect thriller with depth, complex characters and a storyline that weaves a wicked web that you cannot help but get tangled up in. Put yourself in Carrington's hands and prepare yourself for an explosive read!" - BiblioManiac

"What I like about Sam Carrington’s writing is the tense atmosphere that she creates ... Bad Sister is another thrilling read ... I can’t wait to see what she does next, I will definitely be first in line to read her next book"  Jacob Collins

"Well, of all the places I thought this book would take me to, I never thought we'd end up where we did. In fact, I actually gave up trying to work it out about half way through as I was getting dizzy from all the twists and turns, and a bit frustrated at myself for being led down dead ends, so I acquiesced and just let the author lead the dance. Well, she did a pretty good job of things with Saving Sophie, her previous book which I also enjoyed...The ending when it came was rather shocking ... I was rather gobsmacked although, thinking back with hindsight, all very cleverly worked out." - Ashrae

You can buy BAD SISTER now from Amazon, Kobo, iTunes, GooglePlay and other online stores.

I'm also lucky to be on Shaz's Book Blog as part of her Spotlight feature and have lovely bloggers who are sharing their reviews of Saving Sophie today as well. I am so grateful for everyone's support!

I have a 'taster' I would like to share with you -

below is the opening of SAVING SOPHIE!

I hope it makes you want to read on...

Prologue

Saturday

‘Shh . . . Don’t speak.’ He releases the strap of the rubber ball gag with his left hand. His right grips a chunk of long, curly hair. Pulling it, twisting it, so she can’t move her head. So tight, she can’t move away from him. So tight, strands of black hair extensions break and tear from her real hair, tiny popping noises oddly loud in her ear.
The gag makes a soft thud on the concrete floor, an innocent sound, incongruent with the function it has just served.
‘Stay quiet now. Still. It’ll be over soon.’
He pushes his head up against her temple, hard. The slick tackiness of his sweat covers her forehead as he presses against her, rubbing his head from side to side. The putrid odour invades her nostrils. She tries not to breathe. Fear takes over; a whimper escapes from her dry mouth.
‘No. No noise. I told you.’ His voice is raspy, menacing.
Her eyes are wide and swollen, wet with fresh tears – her face stained with old ones. She opens her mouth, just a little, daring to utter the words screaming inside her head: Please don’t kill me. He notices the slight movement of her lips and immediately presses his fingers against them, suppressing the words before they can be formed. Only her breath manages to leak through the gaps of his soft fingers; a stifled exhalation.
   Her last.

I've been overwhelmed with all the support I've had for publication day - so many congratulatory comments across social media - I have struggled to keep up (and may have failed!) Please know I am truly grateful for every single tweet, retweet, comment and message! I really hope everyone who reads Saving Sophie can take something away from it. There have been reviews already - thanks to all who have taken the time to read and write a review - I'm in awe of the ability to write a constructive review, but everyone has managed just that! I appreciate every one. No doubt I'll be quoting from them a bit...

Ooh... like this:

And this:

I have had a Q&A over at Avon's twitter account at lunch time today - if you get chance, do go and check out the brilliant 'story in gifs' they did for Saving Sophie - absolute genius!

I will get around to celebrating with the obligatory champagne later - but for now, I'm going to a friends for a coffee and catch-up.

Oh, and I had these super pretty roses from the hubby :)

My thanks again!

Please do let me know what you think of the novel if you read it :)

So Many Books!

I was rather shocked to find that I had only read 12 books (and 2 of those had been short story collections) in 2014. I use Goodreads a lot, I love adding the books I have read, sharing with others and seeing their recommendations. I also find it invaluable to check out reviews before deciding on which book to purchase next. Goodreads keeps track of your books and gives you Your Year in Books (hence why I know how little I've read!) You can also set yourself a reading challenge each year and a nifty bar chart tells you how far towards your goal you are.

Anyway, to get to the point. I want to read more in 2015. Mostly this is because I have a shelf-load of unread books - not to mention a fair few stacked on my Kindle - which I really must read! My problem, like many other people's, is that I cannot help buying new books. So, all I am doing is adding to the ever-increasing stack of 'to-reads' and therefore making it even less likely that I'm ever going to get through them. Of course, you HAVE to buy new books - it's impossible not to. I find new authors daily and think "I must read their book" and heaven help me on Twitter, because I come across so many recommendations from those I follow that I can spend hours just making lists of must haves. And then, don't get me started on the amazing Liz Barnsley. Her Book Review website is FULL of the aforementioned 'must haves' and she reads SO much that it is always being updated. Honestly, I am in awe. If you ever get stuck for something to read you simply must check her site out.

I have decided to add a 'Book Review' page to my blog. If I have the added incentive of reviewing, I may manage to get through more books. Well, that's the theory anyway. I have started by adding a couple of books that I have already reviewed on Amazon and Goodreads and will continue to add my previously read books before I start adding new reviews. I am currently reading Sarah Hilary's No Other Darkness, due for release on 23rd April in the UK so I will ensure I review that one soon.

Have you got any reading goals this year? I would love to hear from you.

Thanks for dropping by - and Happy Reading! Oh, and as this is my first post this year HAPPY NEW YEAR too :)
